State Wrestling

This weekend my nephew wrestled state in the 10 and under, 70 pounds.   It was awesome watching him, unfortunately he had a really tough bracket.   Right off the bat he went up against last years state champ and lost.  Then, after a few hours he went up against he second competitor and lost 2-0 in 3 rounds.  Poor guy, that was a hard one!!   He did a really good job & it was a pleasure cheering him on!!  Good job Jadon.

My folks stayed with us Friday night and my kids LOVED it.  Kadyn sat and visited with Grandma for a long time and Camryn was a Grandpa's boy.

Chicken Parmesan

I love to cook, and I REALLY love to cook in my crock pot!!!  Last night I made the best Chicken Parmesan ever.
I found the recipe off of a blog I follow, A Year of Slow Cooking.   This is so easy to make and it smells so good as it's cooking!!!!  I highly recommend it :)
Sorry, I don't have any pictures of my accomplishment.  It was so good it was gone before I could snap a few.  :)

This photo is from A year of Slow Cooking.  I decided to make spaghetti noodles instead.  Oh..so good!!!

St. Patrick's Day

I'm not real sure what it is about St. Patrick's Day, but I love this holiday.  I think maybe it's all of the green :) Here are a few pics of my boys celebrating.

They made their hats at school.

Last year I made rainbow cupcakes to honor this holiday.  Not sure if I'll have time to do something fun & festive this year.

I was surprised at how easy these were & yummy.  I topped them off with whip cream instead of frosting.  My kids liked them better that way!!!!  SO YUMMY!!!!

Here is the recipe

Weekend update

This past weekend one of my nieces stayed with us while her mom went to KC for the big 12 tournament.  She was such a treat to have around.  My boys just LOVED having Macee here.  I'm sure they drove her crazy!!!

The weather was finally nice and the kiddos spent most of Saturday outside.  It was fun watching them race around in the battery cars.  We tried to go to Chuck E. Cheese that night, but it was packed.  So, the next morning before Macee left we headed to Chuck E. Cheese.  The kids had a blast.   Kadyn was cracking me up playing games.  Almost everything he played he won the max tickets.  The first game he played he won 40 tickets, the next game he played....one token...150 tickets.  The look on his face was priceless.

What a fun weekend!!!!!

Camryn loved playing games.

Happy Birthday Connor

This weekend was a busy one, although I have to say, every weekend we have is usually pretty busy.  This one, however, I tried to keep myself as preoccupied as possible.  This past weekend would have been my due date for the newest addition to our household.   I had a miscarriage Sept. 11, 2010 at 15 weeks along.  That was one of the hardest  days of my life, but I know that I am blessed in every way and for whatever reason God needed Connor with him.

We found out that we were going to be having another boy.   It's amazing how you can love someone you never really got to know.  I miss him everyday and think about him often.  I know he's keeping grandma & his uncle pretty busy in heaven and for that, I am happy.  I know with all my heart he has many family members keeping an eye on him and loving him as I do.  We love you Connor Owen!!

Family

Today was a busy day.  I did a lot of errands and then I took photos of my sister-in-law and her family.  Her husband is a military man and he is about to be deployed yet again.  I feel so sorry for her as she has to be a single parent for a year.  Well, I'm no professional, but I think these turned out pretty good.  Here are a few of my favs.
